Schools of Choice Program 2011 -12 school year

April 11, 2011 through June 3, 2011

Application process:
Students that are non-residents of the Wyoming Public School district may apply to attend our district by filling out a Schools of Choice application available on the link below, or obtaining a form in person at our administration office at 3575 Gladiola SW, Wyoming, MI 49519. Please note that filling out the form does not guarantee that there is space available in the building you are requesting. Forms must be submitted to the Administration building between the hours of 8:00 am and 4:00 pm Monday through Friday. The deadline for application is June 3, 2011 at 4:00 pm (no exceptions after that date).

Wyoming Public Schools is accepting students in grades kindergarten through 9th grade only. We will be accepting a maximum of 25 students in 9th grade at both Rogers and Wyoming Park High Schools.

Parents will be notified by June 17, 2011 of the selection or non-selection of students.

Additional Notes:
• Transportation of students across district lines is the responsibility of the     parent.
• Siblings of current Choice students may receive preference in filling
   district openings.
• Once a student is enrolled as a Choice student, that student can remain
    for the remainder of his/her school career.
• Waiting lists will be created if more applications than openings occur at a
   particular grade level. A lottery will then be held to fill the openings.
   Students not accepted in the lottery will remain on a waiting list in the
   event an opening should occur.
• Unfilled openings after the June 4 deadline date will be held open until the
    first day of school.
• The Michigan High School Athletic Association requires students to wait
   one semester after enrolling in a new district (as a choice student) before
   they can participate in athletics.
